Experience Culture and Observe Executive Behaviors Ideal for Healthcare Transformation
There's no question seeing is believing. Especially at organizations that have successfully implemented lean principles into their day-to-day operations.
With this in mind, we encourage you to attend an Executive Site Visit in person, and get your organization's lean transformation journey started on the right path. Catalysis has partnered with several hospital care delivery systems to host site visits in 2017.

And if you missed Dr. John Toussaint's recent webinar, "The Power of Going to See," we encourage you to view the recorded presentation at your convenience. The strategies shared by organizations including Lee Health in Ft. Myers, Florida, and St. Mary's General Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario, are powerful as well as empowering. "Andy & Me and the Hospital," Now Available
We are pleased to now offer "Andy & Me and the Hospital: Furt her Adventures on the Lean Journey," in the Catalysis bookstore. The book, by Pascal Dennis, follows Tom Pappas's relationship with Andy Saito, a retired  Toyota guru. Pappas and Saito are asked  to use their skills to help a major New York City hospital avoid disaster.
"This is a great read full of insights into how and why healthcare leaders must change. This book stays focused on the most important activities and behaviors leaders need to learn to create a culture of continuous improvement. Another home run by Pascal Dennis."
-Dr. John Toussaint, Catalysis CEO
UC Berkeley Center for Lean Engagement and Research Launches Lean Action Research Learning Collaborative
In 2016, Catalysis began its partnership with UC Berkeley, establishing the Center for Lean Engagement and Research (CLEAR). One of the first CLEAR initiatives is the Lean Action Research Learning Collaborative. This group will consist of approximately 10 hospitals/integrated healthcare systems that view lean and related transformational improvement approaches as an overall management operating system to improve the value of care to patients.
CLEAR now seeks organizational members to join the collaborative. Members must be able to commit to continuing their participation for at least five years, which will provide enough time to do meaningful longitudinal studies of the impact of lean management on performance outcomes.
Organizations interested in joining the collaborative can contact Janet Blodgett at janet.blodgett@berkeley.edu or call (510)643-9732.  For more information about CLEAR, visit www.clear.berkeley.edu
