CATALYSIS ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE SITE VISIT AT UMASS MEMORIAL HEALTH CARE UMass Opens Doors to Show What Lean Transformation Looks Like APPLETON, WIS. / WORCESTER, MASS. – April 12, 2017 – UMass Memorial Health Care and Catalysis today announced an exclusive Executive Site Visit at the UMass Memorial campus at a date and time to be determined this summer. Hospital executives are invited to see how UMass staff implemented lean principles to improve day-to-day operations and enhance healthcare delivery. “UMass Memorial made extraordinary advances thanks to the lean initiatives its leadership implemented,” said Kim Barnas, president of Catalysis. “The Executive Site Visits help executives understand how teams partner to deliver value to patients. This ‘go and see’ opportunity is ideal for any organization hoping to implement lean principles.” During the day-long visit, hospital executives and other leaders will meet and speak with UMass Memorial staff who implemented lean healthcare practices. They will see guiding principles in action as well as the components of lean management practices that help reduce costs, change culture and enhance patient care. Participants will also discover how staff and physicians partner to deliver value to patients, and how to sustain improvement by aligning the organization culture around guiding principles.
