Each year the Catalysis team is joined by interns who are aspiring healthcare leaders. Our goal is that after they leave us and join the healthcare community they can become champions for lean transformation in healthcare.

Meet Sabrina:

Where did you get your name?

I was named after the movie Sabrina starring Audrey Hepburn, though I also enjoy the remake with Harrison Ford. One of my favorite things is to tell people I was named after a movie and they ask the title of the movie. Gets me every time.

Where are you originally from?

I am originally from Naperville, IL. I never lived outside a five-mile radius from my current home, until I went to college

What about Catalysis attracted you?

I wanted to learn more about the healthcare system, as I am an aspiring healthcare professional. What better way to understand healthcare than to work with those who seek to change it?

What do you hope to get out of this experience?

From this experience, I hope to gain leadership skills, professional development skills, do some networking, and hopefully learn something about myself and my future goals along the way.

What is your dream job?

My dream job is to become the first female doctor in my family. Specializations I am considering right now are orthopedics, family medicine, and emergency medicine.

What do you like doing in your free time?

I enjoy working out, writing poetry, watching Netflix, reading books, and hanging out with friends and family in my free time.

Name something on your bucket list.

I really want to go to Australia.

What is your favorite sport to watch and play?

I love watching football, but only if the Bears are playing. Other than that, I love to watch and play softball

Which would you rather do: wash dishes, mow the lawn, clean the bathroom, or vacuum the house?

Definitely vacuum the house. It’s the easiest thing to do and watching the vacuum make lines in the rugs is very satisfying

If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?

Either teleportation or telekinesis. Although, telekinesis is probably more conducive for being the proper super-hero. Teleportation would be purely for my own entertainment.

Introduce yourself to Sabrina at the Lean Healthcare Transformation Summit June 13-14.
