Recently, John Toussaint, MD was a keynote speaker at Lean Institute Africa’s Lean Healthcare Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he and many healthcare leaders shared learnings from applying lean in real-world settings.

Grey Dube, CEO of Leratong Hospital in Johannesburg, who has been involved in a Catalysis leadership program, shared that before initiating lean at his hospital he received over 20 complaints a day about wait times. Since applying lean techniques to improve processes, this hospital has reduced complaints to nearly zero.
