Are decisions and actions in your organization made in isolation or do you have coordinated methods that work together for the whole? Building systems starts with taking a step back and seeing the big picture – the whole. This course helps leaders and managers not only see the individual parts of a system but also how the parts are highly integrated to drive both behaviors and achieve the right performance outcome. We rarely build NEW systems rather than adjust the current ones we have. In this hands-on course, we will use systems from the organization to deepen our understanding and provide practical experience.
The workshop provides an introduction to the principle ‘Think Systemically’ by identifying the key elements to a system. The final outcome is to create a system standard that captures all these elements. The focus will be placed on constructing a Daily Management System as a fundamental system to enable the success of a lean transformation.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify the key behaviors that need to be driven by the system.
- Structure processes and procedures to drive the described behavior.
- Adjust the tools to ensure that desired outcomes are achieved.
- Develop a framework and standard to monitor, maintain, and improve the system.
